Air Conditioning Service & Repairs

You may think that your air conditioning system is built to last for the life of your car, but you may be surprised to learn that most experts in Sydney suggest servicing once every two years as a minimum. The problem with air conditioning systems is that you may not notice the gradual decline in their performance. However, Randwick Car Care European Car Service knows how to correct your AC's poor performance and keep you cool in the hotter summer months.

Our air conditioning service is available in a two-part process. The first is an AC Re-Gas, which replaces fluids and gas that could have escaped over the past two years. The second part is a standard cleaning that will clear your air conditioning system's hoses and tunnels to make sure the cold air being generated is making it to your car's cabin. Both services will help to get rid of unpleasant smells that could be produced by your AC unit.

Air Conditioning Re-Gas

An air conditioning re-gas performed by Randwick Car Care European Car Service, we'll start by replacing the gas and lubricant in your AC, which can wear out over time and has a big effect on how cool your car stays at peak warm periods. In addition, we'll test your gas pressure to make sure there isn't a leak allowing the gas or cool air to escape. If we find the pressure to be too low, it could result in increased fuel consumption as your engine is forced to work harder to deliver the same level of comfort.

In addition to keeping you riding in comfort and fuel costs minimal when the heat is on, an AC re-gas will also ensure that your ventilation unit works properly in winter as well. It may sound counterintuitive, but a working AC will actually clear the mist off your windshield in winter because it acts as a dehumidifier, making it both a comfort and safety improvement.

Air Conditioning Cleaning

To take your AC up to maximum effectiveness, you'll need a full cleaning. In addition to removing all the gas and fluids (including dye and oil), our licensed technicians will also clean the entire system to get rid of the moisture in hard to reach parts that could be reducing your AC's efficiency. Once the entire system is back in a pristine state, new gas and fluids will be injected. A temperature reading will be made at the beginning and ending of the process to show you the clear improvements that have been achieved.

Stay ahead of the Sydney crowds by calling early and scheduling your air conditioning service well before the oppressive temperatures start to appear.

  • An AC inspection will look at the following:
  • Compressor drive-belt tension and condition
  • Cooling fan operation
  • Temperature of refrigeration air in cabin
  • High and low system pressures
  • Compressor operation
  • Air/moisture in dehydration reservoir
  • System hoses, joints and component
